Corporate
The mutual respect that everyone craves only comes from understanding. And understanding only comes from education and experience. Thomas has completed sessions with many local and global companies including Veolia, Heritage Bank, NACAP, and GHD to name a few. While working in the construction and resource sector as a Supervisor, Thomas has had to continually find ways to educate and break down perceptions and barriers with high turnover work crews. The Cultural Awareness workshop that Thomas delivers has been structured around key learnings from feedback given on what worked well and what didn’t over the years. Workshops vary from 1hr to 4hrs
Reconciliation/NAIDOC Week
Thomas has presented at many events over the years. Keynote presenting at Indigenous themed events has always been received well. Education is always the key and having a personal input into why Reconciliation needs to happen is something Thomas is very passionate about. In keeping with the National themes of each year Thomas will also prepare a presentation that includes the themes as well as addressing any concerns from clients.
Indigenous Consulting
The value that Thomas brings to this space is built on the lived experience of working in an Industry that can be challenging both culturally and professionally for Indigenous Australians. At times Thomas’ brand and image in the Resource Industry has attracted quite a lot of conversations with Traditional Owners voicing concerns around economic and employment outcomes for Indigenous Australians within the area that they live. Working for different companies and on many different projects Thomas has been able to draw from what has worked well and is able provide sound advice to clients when it comes to engagement. Thomas can effectively cover all areas from:
Consultation is completed at an agreed hourly rate.
All work starts on a client and community level. It will be within the pricing to have an approved Elder from community present at each workshop to deliver a Welcome to Country and share a small part of their journey. The advice that Thomas gives when consulting will also be on the back of talks with Elders to better understand the path forward to mutually beneficial outcomes and relationships. As always, any engagement will be at the discretion of clients and specific points will be agreed before any talks with community members takes place.
A long time ago as a troubled youth, Thomas was fortunate enough to meet someone that challenged his perspective and changed the trajectory of his life. In doing so this person put a fire into his life and turned him into the passionate man he is today. But that fire was never his to keep. It was always meant to passed on to others, particularly other troubled youths. If you choose to do business with Thomas, he guarantees that he will help you build something special and leave a lasting fire where it counts.
